The airport Noi Bai is 35 km to the north. Taxis are available at a fixed price. Shuttle and public buses are available.
By Air:
Noi Bai Airport is around 45kms (25 miles) north of the city centre and here are direct flights from airports across Europe including Paris and Vienna, Australia (Sydney and Melbourne), and many Asian cities including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Beijing. There are currently no direct flights from the US , Canada or the UK and travellers usually take onward flights from Hong Kong , Taiwan and Bangkok to Hanoi .
Airport transfers - Metered taxis and airport minibuses are available. Vietnam Airlines operate a shuttle every half hour to their offices in the city centre and hotels en route.
By train:
The city's main station Ga Hang Co station and nearby Tran Quy Cap station cater for the majority of train services from Ho Chi Minh City in the south, and Chinese connections in the north.
By bus:
Long distance coach services from Ho Chi Minh City use the Giap Bat Station, on the south side, and services arriving from the north use Gia Lam Station which is north-east of the city centre.
